Five Islands Brewing Company

Named after the five islands off the coast of Wollongong, Five Islands Brewing Company is the Illawarra region’s first brewery.

Established in 2001, the Five Islands Brewing Company has set themselves the task of making their beer the best.

The brewery consists of a 50 seat lounge area serving modern Australian cuisine, the Sixth Island Bar where a large selection of bar food is available, the brewery itself and an expansive outside terrace, complete with BBQ only 50 metres from the beach.

The imported micro brewery includes a 12 hectolitre capacity brew house from Canada and 8 unitanks, which can ferment, condition and serve the beers directly to the Sixth Island bar.

The impressive beer menu consists of nine specialty beers including the Pig Dog Pilsner which is named after the owner (Michael Bolt, an ex-St George rugby player) who has a unique anecdote for each beer.

Five Islands' local beers are all chemical and preservative free and contain no added sugar. Could we have found the closest thing to a guilt-free beer? We think so.

Five Islands Brewing Company is a unique place on the beach to relax, sample the thirst-quenching locally brewed beers and enjoy some real bar food and excellent dining.
