Australia Day Celebrations

Get ready to celebrate Australia Day 2010 in Wollongong. The day will commence at 7am with the annual Australia Day Breakfast by the Lake celebrations. Breakfast will be served at Reddall Reserve, Lake Illawarra.

Once your bellies have been filled get ready for an action packed day of traditional Aussie music, contests and a citizenship ceremony.

There will be heaps of staged entertainment, roving entertainment, stalls of all kinds, amusement rides for the kiddies and the young at heart along with a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm to end the day.

Be sure to head down to Wollongong Harbour to check out the Illawarra Aquathon Charity splash and dash. This year the event is celebrating its 12th edition. Check out the website and see how you can get involved. The event covers all ages and standards so why not give it a go!

There will also be sand sculptures, a hospital bed race, sailing regatta, and a wide range of activities concluding with a spectacular fireworks display sponsored by Integral Energy at 9pm.
